My newest build, NH34-based bronze.
Hello fellow Crunchers, just finished building my latest watch, parts were all bought for my birthday from AliExpress. Stayed with a 44mm bronze case from Tandorio, started with a flat sapphire crystal and black bezel insert and chapter ring. Popped the crystal out (first time doing that), replaced the black chapter ring with a blue chapter ring that has 24 hour gone markers. Then installed a new mineral glass crystal. Why you ask? This was built for my 50th birthday, and these old eyes are having trouble reading dates, so I wanted a cyclops! Although I feel like the magnification on it might be a little too strong, I'll have to see how I like it. Next step was a new bezel insert that's black and red, but the original insert that came out is stepped, where is thicker on the outside than the inside. I stuck the one I got in, but it stuck to the case itself instead of the bezel, so turning the bezel didn't move the insert at all. So it's back to the original insert until I can figure this out. All these colors were specifically planned out for users too. The red minutes had keys you to the red timing section of the bezel insert for easy timing at a glance, and the blue chapter ring keys to the blue GMT hand for telling tone in a second tone zone. And then I got a rubber strap that's black on the outside and red on the inside top help play with the bezel insert too, and now it's just red for no reason. I'll figure it out eventually though. And the bronze case, man, it's beefy! As you can see, it weighs in at 113g on the river strap. The empty case by itself was 86g, heavier than my complete Vostok on a strap, lol! Anyways, besides that bezel insert, this thing is basically done. Wears really well for a 44mm case too, that short lug to lug is great! Last picture with the black and red insert is how I want it to look in it's final form, but right now, I just set the bezel on there for the pic. Hope you like it!
Used to collect cheap and weird digital watches when I was young. Now I've moved on to mechanical watches. I also like modding them, especially the cheap ones!
It looks great! Black, blue and bronze is a awesome combination! The bronze case is going to look incredible with a patina as well!
