Alternatives to research (work/dress watch)

Hi all,

My initial search for a work/dress watch to upgrade my Tissot PR100 (quartz) has led me to the Longines Master Collection and the 190th Anniversary Edition. Comments welcome on other watches that are automatic, 39-41mm diameter, less than 10mm thick, leather strapped and c. £2,000. Then I can get comparing!

Thank you

p.s if I get the Longines it will be my only non date watch - my AT, Carrera and 4 Alpinists all have dates!

It is nice, isn’t it?

I agree with the Nomos Neomatic and Alpina choices. I own the 190 so am bias but the Salmon dial with its smaller diameter and 20mm lug is worth a look. I would also suggest the Tudor 1926 and FCs in your range. If you’re looking at thinner watches as opposed to strictly “dress” watches, checkout the Monta Noble on a fitted leather band. The preowned market is also a great source for dress watches at compelling price points.
