Baltic really exceeds expectations!

The blue Hermetique Tourer arrived today and wow, it really exceeded my expectations. This is my first Baltic and I wasn’t sure of a couple things, including the quality of the case and hand finishing, or the QC on the Miyota 9039 (rotor noise). I can confirm that both of these concerns are gone after getting it in hand. A few of my “picky notes” from a picky enthusiast, if you don’t like those types of details please stop reading here 🤣 and take away that the Baltic is great!

The finishing on the case surfaces are what I would describe as equivalent or better than the level of finishing you’d see on a high level Hamilton or low grade Longines. The brushing is even, the polished edges are perfect, the only parts where you’d notice it’s not a perfect finish are the finishing of the light rounding on lug edges. But very exceptional for the price tier. Hands are finished well too, with hand edges nearly all polished, with burring only here and there and only visible under magnification. No “jagged hand edge glints” of Tissot or Seikos around this price tier.

This is my first Miyota 90xx and I was worried about rotor noise, which I understand is mostly caused by final rotor QC at casing. But I am also happy to see that with this QC + this case, the rotor is basically silent, barely heard, in a quiet room (30 dB room) at arms length even when spinning. This is much quieter than Seiko 6R rotors (which have bothered me in the past), and quieter than ETA HeaviDrive quartz ticks (ditto).

I was also surprised to get a numbered case back! I didn’t rush to order, but it’s another pleasant surprise. All in all very impressed by this grade of work!

Loving that 3-6-9-12 dial. 👌

Have it in the hit list, happy to read your review and increasingly closer to pulling the trigger on one of these (eyeing the brown) as already have too much green in the collection

I'm thinking hard about getting this one in beads of rice.
