Help!! Squeaky bracelet tips??

First purchase of 2023. Arrived today.

Love the piece, but the bracelet is very squeaky and a little rattly. I can live with it being a little rattly, but I can't live with the squeak!! ๐Ÿ™‰

They also sized it with the micro-adjustment full extended, which was pretty damn stupid!

Aside from sending it back, has anyone had this before and any suggestions on how to cure the squeak??

This may sound incredibly stupid, but you might just use a tiny bit of lube on the squeaky links, yeah? Like bike chain lube or WD-40? And then wash off the excess? Better than sending the watch back, yeah?

That's my thinking. Just wondered if anyone had experience of this. Would you say dry bike lube?

What donut resizes the bracelet with extension pulled? ๐Ÿ™‰

Yeah, dry bike lube - that's what I use on practically everything that squeaks in my house! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sorry to hear about the dumb resizing. Hopefully you got somebody nearby who can do the resizing quickly and easily and cheaply.

Cool mate. I think I will give it a go with the lube tomorrow. If it doesn't work I'll send it back for them to fix.

My Rolex AD will probably do it for me over the weekend for free. Just annoying that I paid ยฃ10 to have have sized! I'm writing a strongly worded email! ๐Ÿคฃ

Silicone spray is best as oil attracts dirt and bike lube is graphite which is real dirty stuff.

I had a CW Sealander for a bit. Same thing with me; super squeaky out of the box! It usually goes away after wearing it for a while, but if you want to speed it up, you can simply wash the bracelet with dish soap and water. Make sure to rub the soap into all of the gaps and hinges! I did that a few times and the squeaking greatly diminished. Not completely silent, but it was a huge improvement.

Hopefully that helps!

Wear it, it will probably go away.

This. Donโ€™t lube your bracelet unless you want oily wrists. Give it a rinse under warm water, maybe scrub with a soft toothbrush, then wear it. Itโ€™ll go away.

It has certainly put me off the watch. Customer service was terrible yesterday.

I have 2 other more affordable watches (Oris Aquis and the Tissot PRX) and both have been excellent for the money.

It sounds like I have mouse on my wrist! Very annoying.

I did buy with 2 additional straps, so I could just wear on straps and have the bracelet as back up or if I resell later.

I asked if I could just return the bracelet and they adjust the price, but I have to send the whole thing. Annoying, as the bracelet is quick release and they sell them separately anyhow.

It will go away in a couple of days in my experience. If not then just return it.

First time I've had it. All my other watches, aside from 2 others are in a different price range.

I'll give them a bell again in a bit and state that's what I intend to do. It does returns only accepted if unused.

Thanks for your thoughts watch friend......

Just gotta break it in.

ยท

Even my Rolex did that in the beginning. It just takes a couple of weeks to break in so no reason to send it back

My Rolex and other brands haven't ever before; that's why it freaked me out ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿคฃ.

I went to the CW showroom today and they swapped the watch over. The new bracelet is much better and the sized it correctly! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ
