I work at a Ben and Jerry's ice cream shop in Watkins Glen, NY, and since I see a lot of people walk in every day, I partake in a bit of watch spotting. I saw what I believe was a white Rolex Datjust,
a super nice looking white dial Hamilton Khaki King,
a Chopard diver (Don't know the specific model), a couple of Tag Heuer Chronographs,
A blue dial Semaster 300m on a bracelet,
the odd Submariner (but never a normal one), a Deep Sea, and joy of joys, a Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT.
I also see a good amount of invictas.
Now, believe me when I say I don't mind Invicta, but they look so much like Submariners that it's always a bit of a letdown when I get close eneough to see that it's not. Does that happen to you guys?

I'm surprised you didn't say anything to the CW owner. In my experience, only watch geeks even know CW exists.
Oh, I did. He let me hold it and it seemed really nice. I'm looking to get the C65 Aquitaine in steel.
I work in retail too, in a vape shop in a small Fenland town. I've a few regular customers who are into the hobby and often have a chat . One wears a datejust, another a CWC G10 or 62mas reissue, but the rarest I've had the privilege of seeing was a Breitling Cosmograph (24 hour dial). Very cool 👍
See a few Rolex that often turn out to be Invictas 🤣
Hats off to you for being able to tell an Invicta from a Sub without the owner getting a restraining order. I once spent at least an hour stalking a guy at work trying to figure out which he was wearing.
Great ice cream in Watkins Glen (kid has special dietary needs, so I remember good places!). I’m there every couple of years. Next time I’ll definitely go to B&J’s wearing something Crunchy. Maybe we’ll cross paths.
I was killing time browsing for a suit to attend a wedding some years ago when a well dressed gent who used to be referred to as a Master of the Universe type ( Tom Wolfe) called my name that resonated through the mostly empty shop. He was visiting from California, I was embarrassed did not recognize him immediately until I noticed his watch which was a Blancpain perpetual calendar watch. The moment was ruined because he realized that after all these years I was still poor at interacting with Homo sapiens preferred the fraternity of a mass produced product. I never knew that he actually remembered my name since he always called me “the watch guy”. Haha.

That’d be so cool😄
