My watchmaker friend was recently invited by the NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors) to be a demonstrator at their anual North East convention. Since he is a Menonite and cannot drive, he asked me to take him to the event. After an uneventful drive, a terrible experience at a local Wendy's, and a night at the hotel, the main event opened its doors on Saturday morning.
There were over a hundred and sixty tables filled with watches, clocks, and tools. It was awesome to see so many people excited about horology. I also saw some really, really cool watches including a pre-Daytona Rolex chronograph,
a vintage Tudor inside a Rolex case (back when that was a thing),
a Speedmaster Snoopy edition,
a Lecultre alarm watch,
a limited edition AP Royal Oak on someone’s wrist, vintage Elgins, Bulovas and Benruses, vintage Seamasters (I bought one; couldn’t help myself),
and many, many more. It was a really great event, and I’m considering a membership to the NAWCC myself. What do you guys think?

Some great looking pieces there.
I have been poking around their site recently. Looks super cool. A 5 hour drive to the museum though, maybe I become a member to make it worth it lol.
Go for it, I am a member. If you get a chance go to the museum. I also suggested the badge here on WatchCrunch.
I let my membership slip because meetings were too far away....
