After a Long Time

Wearing my MoonSwatch - Mission to Mercury on custom strap - after a long time today - Great value for money if you keep your expectations a little low in terms of weight and sturdiness of a watch

I am seeing more and more of these watches that I am kinda fancying the idea of getting one but I can’t really decide on which mission to get

Did you for mercury just for the color or there was something else?

·

@Jangalit I found Mission to Mercury the best looking one as its very close to real thing and yes having a charcoal gray dial instead of basic black gives it an edge as this can be paired up with almost any strap color

·

Great look! The juxtaposition between the tan starp and black case/dial looks amazing 👏🏽

My favourite moonswatch of yours!!

You just defined why it's not value for money. It's plastic and badly made. I bought one because I fell for the hype but got rid of it because I couldn't wear it without thinking about when it's going to fall apart. Loss taken, not a flipper.

thats your choice but i stick to what i said that for 250 bucks its a very good watch especially if you put a different strap - great value for money in terms of look, aesthetics and of course the Omega name too - you selling it for your reasons is your call and its fine too.

Watches and Audi. Happy days.

·

Great strap. The whole look is terrific.

·

That’s a very interesting watch-strap combination and kinda good looking! 🤩

But let's be real here, it's not really an Omega. The watch is a Swatch. It's cosplaying as an Omega. Of course the Omega name sells it - many people undoubtedly buy it thinking they're getting a budget Omega, when they really aren't. They'd sell about 99% less if it was just branded Swatch, even though that would be the more honest route to take.

That is exactly my point by saying "as long as we are not expecting too much" - if someone is buying it thinking they are buying an Omega they would be highly disappointed however if someone is buying it as a better Swatch then its a great watch - Omega name is an added bonus on this design

That's right. As a Swatch, it's a great Swatch. The problem is when people do buy into the brand, and see it as an Omega watch when it's not. And I think this happens more with 'non watch' people who, on one hand, we want to bring into the hobby... but they're being brought into the hobby on the back of a, 'brand is everything' sort of vibe, which I don't think is healthy in watches. Sure, it exists. Sure, there are watch snobs everywhere who are obsessed with brand. But it's not the best attitude to reinforce in the arriving newbies.

oh totally - i see lot of non-watch people wearing these and literally thinking they are wearing a Speedy - which on one hand feels wrong to break their heart and inform that this isnt Speedy - not at all - but on the other hand an inevitable truth that a watch person cant simply ignore too - I think its a great way to get interested and familiar with dimensions and designs of the real speedmaster
