Faulty watch

I got Seiko tortoise (green bezel & face) from an online company in the UK, this was December 22. I sent it back after wearing it one day, the crown was gritty and you had to force the crown in to screw it in. The company will not refund me as I wore the watch and say they will fix it. Its now June and I am still waiting. Seiko UK seem to be in no rush! Anybody else had this or am I just unlucky?

I do believe they may be attempting to have you on. As a buyer, you are protected by the Consumer Rights Act of 2015. In the CRA it states you have the right to 'A product of satisfactory quality', and if said item is not you have the right to a repair, replacement or refund. As said above, you cannot change your mind about which option you want unless you 'allow the chosen retailer reasonable time to complete that chosen remedy'. Six and a half months sounds like more than enough reasonable time

If it's faulty within one year (and the company is based in the UK) then they definitely have to do something.

If it was after one year (but within Seiko's warranty) then it's Seiko's responsibility.

Thank you, I am getting a little tired of asking the company to sort this. I appreciate your help.

Was the warranty covered directly by Seiko itself or through the online seller?

The seller.
