Wolbrook Two-tone Skindiver Automatic Review

First review. I am somewhat new to collecting, but have somehow already added a handful of divers to the collection. Divers are great....if you like black. The elusive green face was the missing piece of the collection. There are obviously some classic greens out there such as the Kermit, Oris, or the Starbucks, but often come at a premium. I was looking for something I could wear as a daily that was unique, but was also reasonably price.

Wolbrook "somehow" appeared in my feed and I was intrigued. While not a Swiss brand, there is some history with the brand and the design of the Two-tone Skindiver looked right to me. Good online customer experience and the ordering process was easy. The watch was shipped quickly for under $500 with a free leather strap.

Upon opening, the watch looks better in person. The brushed steel case with the gold / copper / brass accents really look great in the sun. The green face, gold accents, and black tropic rubber strap really add a lot of unique visual elements.

A 40mm watch that wears like a 42. This watch really captures the eye and is easy to read. There is a domed crystal over large numbers....that are even 2-4-6-8-10 rather than the usual 3-6-9-12. I also noticed that the green bezel is very narrow which also makes the face look bigger. I also like the large screw crown and low profile bezel with the coin edge. Keeping the face clean there is no date window to clutter the dial. Another trick is that this is a 20mm band that does make the case appear a bit larger.

One bonus feature is the free strap. I went with a brown leather rally strap that gives the watch a whole different functionality. Speaking of functionality, the large hands area easy to read via movement that is a Citizen / Miyota 8315 with a 60 hour reserve. I just got back from a trip to Baja Mexico and spent a good amount of time swimming and boating without any complaints.

All in all, this has been the one I reach for most frequently.

Lol, “not a Rolex” can probably go on likes and dislikes. Thanks for the review.

Does the case feel like it hugs your wrist? Or is it flat/slab style like a Hamilton Khaki Field, in your opinion?

Had my eye on this for awhile, haven't pulled trigger yet.

I would say yes, especially with the tropic rubber strap. Lugs turn down a bit. Leather might slab more on smaller wrists.....with a newer strap. Would probably be a good fit for most 6.5+ wrists and up.

Pretty sure that's Neil Armstrong's "other" watch. Very cool mate 👍
