Black watch

Dear watch community and enthusiasts,

I was wondering if you could help me with some inspiration. I would like to add a new sporty watch to the collection and spend somewhere between 500-1200€. I want it to be black on black, so a black case and a black bracelet or strap. Also, it should have a diameter of 42-46mm. My current pick would be the new Certina DS, 43mm, but that uncomfortable nato strap holds me off. Any suggestions from your side for a complete package? Automatic or quartz both ok for me, thanks and have a good sunday.

If your wrist can handle a 50mm you could look at this

Echo/Neutra Averau 39 Moonphase.

They do a version without the green sheen as well, and a version without the moonphase complication. Plus their based in Italy so no import tax if you’re in the EU.

I only have experience with 5 black case watches and the only one that still looks fresh is my ceramic rado from 2006. Especially coated beacelets take a hit. Maybe it's just my lack of proprioception.

I would look for at least a DLC coating. PVD doesn't hold up in the long run. And the best ones are carbon or ceramic. Good luck 👍
