I think the absolute BEST is the Steinhart Ocean One or Ocean 39, depending on your wrist size. A lot of the knock-offs (Parnis, etc) have the look, but not the quality or water resistance.

Steinhart is a German company making Swiss-Made watches of exceptional quality! For under $500!!

I own an OLKO Special Edition of their Ocean GMT and it is the best in my collection - on my wrist about 90% of the time. This will be my next:

I hear a lot of good things about Steinhart, and they make a Submariner homage.

Submariner clones can be had at almost any price point as they are an offshoot of the fake industry. Pretty much any Seiko NH35 powered clone will work well starting at under $100.00 USD like the Pagani or Invicta. Higher priced models will have a little better case and bracelet quality but the same performance. The real jump is when they have Swiss movements in them for a real quality boost. Never buy a clone with a Chinese movement. Almost every clone has the same NH35 movement in it.

It’s a very affordable option, but I highly recommend the Steeldive sd1953 if you don’t have any qualms about Chinese clomages (I admit, I was very skeptical at first, too). Ceramic bezel, milled clasp, solid end links, some of the best lume I’ve ever seen for the price, engraved crown and case back, and a “supposed” 300m of water resistance. This piece can be had from anywhere between $70-$130, and it’s the perfect watch to use as a beater—absolutely nothing lost with scratching and scraping this thing. Also, it gets stolen? No problem—easily replaced. Take it on any adventure care-free. Check it out.
