The vintage vibe rolls on with this 1940's Felca Steelmaster for Throwback Thursday. I have a lot of admiration for the Schluep family who began their foray into watches as Felco Ltd. in the Swiss town of Grenchen in 1919 and still survives as a 4th generation family managed business to this day. I find it extraordinary how despite the added expense they often used casebacks marked with the model name (as depicted). From Felco to Felca to modern day Titoni I've assembled a small representative sample of eras, trademarks and models. It is perhaps one of the least known 100+ year old Swiss watch businesses still in existence, particularly in the U.S. where distribution was never firmly established. With model names including Airmaster, Swing Star, Cosmo King, Space Star, Race King and Seascoper this company is evocative of adventure. Thank you T. Not a high end collection by any means but it's been fun putting it together.
