Seattle 10/28/23 Meet-Up Inquiry

This post is just to gauge if there is any Cruncher interest in a Saturday 10/28/23 Seattle Meet-Up.

The PNW is our home away from home ❤ and if it wasn't for our addiction to sunny Southern California weather we'd probably be living there though we do manage to visit regularly.

Unfortunately @Max is busy that day so I'm just testing the waters for other Seattle area Crunchers before expending any real effort to make this happen.

There are two possibilities I'm currently contemplating though I'm 100% open to other suggestions and other venues. We have evening commitments during our time in Seattle (party!!!) so a morning or daytime event would be one that we could organize and/or attend.

The first possibility is a weekend morning "Coffee at the Camlin" event at the historic Camlin Hotel in downtown Seattle.

We could have coffee and light breakfast items in one of the common areas available within the hotel or...

A Saturday late morning or afternoon gathering at Timeworks in the University Village shopping center.

We could view some watches then possibly congregate at one of the many bars or restaurants in the Village like Joey's. (Those that are more familiar with food and beverage options in the University Village shopping center please feel free to chime in.)

Last night at the Queen Mary Longines event, Mary Todd-McGinnis of Ben Bridges offered to help with a Seattle Timeworks gathering however I don't want to reach out to Timeworks just yet if the PNW interest to gather isn't there.

As some of you may recall Max created a YouTube video highlighting Timeworks and it looks pretty interesting.

I'll hold off for a bit from posting a formal WC Meet-Up invite until we see whether enough Seattle area folks want to venture out. Feel free to message me if you want to hang and talk watches but aren't available for a 10/28/23 gathering. Meeting new people is always on the agenda.

The Los Angeles Hotel Figueroa gathering we hosted last month was lightly attended but it turned out to be one of the best evenings of the year so large numbers aren't mandatory to proceed.

Either way I hope more Crunchers get out and about for some face to face with other enthusiasts.

Looking forward to some feedback.

Would love an encore visit to the great PNW, especially for a watch meetup but our travel calendar is packed through year-end. Raincheck for sometime next year would be great! Have a great time, J and R ❤️❤️❤️

If I lived on the Best Coast I definitely would be down. Should be an awesome time.

Haven’t had a chance to make it to Timeworks yet. I could be interested in that. What does a typical watch meetup entail?

Usually people just congregate and bring a few watches to share. Sometimes it's a potluck at someone's home and other times the host arranges a private area at a restaurant.

If we meet up at Timeworks they may have light refreshments for us and perhaps a few watch deals especially for Crunchers. They also offered to have a speaker give a small presentation on some aspect of horology. There are also numerous food venues adjacent to Timeworks if crunchers wanted to move the revelry from Timeworks to one of those.

Very interested! Saturday morning or early afternoon at Timeworks works well for me. Thanks for organizing.

Thanks for the reply! It's looking like a daytime event at Timeworks is the preference. I'll reach out to Judy the Manager there to see if that day and time works for the shop then make a formal Meet-Up post.
