Getting off the couch and linking up with other watch people is one of my favorite parts of this hobby.
Ben Bridges & Longines graciously provided parking, admission, cocktails, dinner, dessert and prizes aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California while a Longines heritage expert gave a talk on the history of the brand and its contributions to aviation and innovation.
We got to chat with some familiar faces and industry figures while also meeting a few new players in the hobby.
Longines has been really hitting its stride as of late and is recapturing much of it's cachet ftom it's earlier heyday. As an early aviation enthusiast I'm glad to see them doing so well.
Hope to see you at the next event. In the meantime let's see your Longines watches and/or your comment on the brand.

Looks like a great event at a historic venue.

@ckim4watches and I were there too!

Missed you in the mix! Next time though.
I wore my new piece from their Master Collection.
I just noticed I'm in your photo of the stage. Lol. But you can only see the back of my head.

Wolf whistle!
I double fisted a Day-Date and this vintage Big Eye that their heritage speaker thought was early 50's.
I also brought this Jamboree he thought was circa '56.
It was a bonus having someone like him assess the watches and that just capped off a great weekend.
Going to the Feldmar Zodiac event next...

I did see you around looking very dapper!

One of my favorite watches from the Longines museum collection is this tank. The red areas on the dial are for maintaining radio silence so that a distress signal won't be missed.
This feature was a direct result of the Titanic's messages being hard to pick up due to other simultaneous transmissions.
Loving my Hydroconquest GMT!
Loving my Hydroconquest GMT!
THIS is how you do a GMT. 👍
I have an older hydroconquest in 39mm, great watch.
If only I was on California, this solidifies my need for both the Ultra Chron, and an aviator style watch next year from my favorite brand.
I do love my longines
How awesome!
I was fortunate to be invited to their Pilot Majetek release in Toronto where they held it at the island airport and we got helicopter tours of the city

What a storied history the Majetek has and what better way is there to celebrate such an important aviation watch than with some flying? Longines' back catalog is a treasure trove and imo they are crushing it.👍
Fully agree! And on top of that they listen to fans by releasing versions of their hot models like the Zulu Time in 39 and an upcoming LLD (that I cannot detail due to embargo) 😇
Wow! You really had to search for something not to like when there was so much that was being freely given to the watch community by our hosts.
You and Rebecca host and attend the best functions, not to mention the classiest! Would have loved this Longines event - wow!
Here’s my prized Spirit Chrono L2.705.4 🤙❤️👻

It's always good to hear from you! We mostly use social media as a bridge to offline events. I just posted an inquiry for a Seattle gathering 10/28/23. We will host a Meet-Up if there is enough interest in case you're feeling the need for some time in the PNW.❤

I used to watch him on Bob's watches videos.
Thanks for sharing. Too bad I missed out. Well next time.

FYI there is a cocktail party with a tropical chic theme October 23rd, 6-9 at Feldmar Watch Company on Pico Blvd to release the Zodiac Sea Wolf collab with Ariel. You can get more info and RSVP at ablogtowatch if you're feeling like you want to come out and play.👍

Ripley is mostly with a blogtowatch now. Justin and Emily are still at Bob's and often come out for drinks and to talk watches.
Too bad we didn't meet at the event @FlatteryCamp! Next time 🍻
