Tissot PRX 35mm?

I went to try on the tissot prx powermatic 80 at the store a, but should I get the 35mm quartz instead? I don't know if the auto movement justifies the additional price, especially for something that I want to be a daily wear watch. Plus, the 40mm feels bigger than I thought even though it doesn't look oversized on my wrist.

Ultimately up to you, but I guess if it helps, the powermatic 80 is probably assembled mostly the same way as the quartz: mostly by machines.

I'd say go with the one that looks nice to you, which includes the watch size and the ticking hand. 😁

I have heard rumors that there will be a 36mm PRX Powermatic 80 at some point in the future, but I cannot seem to find any solid confirmation. It may be that the automatic version will be released after the quartz version just like with the larger PRX. You might wait until a bit later in the year to see if any news comes out.

I'd buy the size that appeals before I'd buy the movement. You don't really interact with, or see the movement often, but you feel, and see the case every time you wear the watch.

As mentioned by @Candide3693 it might be worth waiting a bit to see if a Powermatic 80 in a smaller size is announced.

if that's the case then I might wait for it, a 36mm auto with genta design is a dream come true haha

I really think they will be releasing the smaller automatic PRX. After all, Tissot already has the Powermatic 80 movement for that size watch. I got my wife a 31mm PR100 Powermatic 80 a few years ago, and that movement would be a good size for a 35mm or 36mm automatic PRX.

At this point, if you gave me the choice between 2 watches that looked exactly the same, one quartz and one automatic, I'd almost certainly choose the quartz every time.

I really like the PRX. It's not a fashion watch but you're probably not buying it for the craftsmanship. So may as well go quartz? You get basically the same exterior, at a much cheaper price.

I'm at the same stage of collecting, the convenience of quartz is very appealing.

I'll always have a few mechanical watches, just because I enjoy the idea of a machine that runs without electricity.

When I tried on the 40mm watch it also felt JUST a little bit too big. Ultimately went for the 35mm and it fits SO much better. Trust me.. you won't regret it!

I have the same problem. The 40 feels to big for me, and I’m not used to wear watches that small. I know small watches are having a come back, but I don’t want people to think that my watch looks femenine

Dude what’s your wrist size? I love the watch but I feel like my sweet spot is between the 40 and the 35 mm
