Hello fellow watchers,
I’ve owned my pride and a joy, a 1950s Longines conquest for some time now. And I’m always stunned when I open to look at the movement.
Recently ive hade the urge to create a custom exhibition caseback to be able to enjoy the golden color whenever.
(Of course I’m not going to ruin any original parts
So I have a few questions for you people:)
I would need to find another caseback that I can put a sapphire glass in
2. Do you think this is a good ide at all 😅
Thanks

Go for it!
I think it’s a fantastic idea in concept but perhaps challenging in execution, best suited for a reputable/skilled watchmaker. Looking forward to other opinions on here and good luck! 🤙❤️
I know there is a company that does this for grand seiko, maybe see if they can help.
I would go for it if you can find another case back and can spare the original one as I guess the DIY hitch is part of the drive here. If getting there is not important but only the arrival, then I would follow @AlohaBrah21 advice, and seek pro help.
I love the idea of being able to see the movement but wouldn't know where to start. I've found one for my 3133, and added them to my SKX and a couple of Vostoks. I'd love one for the 3017 and my Pogue.
No. The rare sight is special. Something behind glass, not so much. Take a video if you must. The view isn't going to change.
