Ebay alert

Very similar watch to the one that I returned as it was not good.

This one turned up, put it on the timegrapher. 124 degrees amplitude. Beat error 8!

Running time, all I got was a lot of ++++++. Made the assumption that it was running so fast, that the timegrapher wouldn't give a readout.

Checked it for magnetism with an app. Nope.

Took it the movement out, only possible fault I could see visibly, was a kink in the hairspring near the beat stud.

Jewels look remarkably clean, no congealed old oil.

While it was apart, I cleaned the case in the ultrasonic tank. Big improvement. It was just over £40, my previous one was £50 and didn't run. Also it was stiff when adjusting the time. I oddly felt a tinge of sadness when I posted it back to the vendor.

I'll keep this and look into the hairspring in greater depth at some future point. Although my "future point" seems to be moving further away. 😂

Where's my Polywatch, that acrylic looks sooo scratched in close up. 🤔😊

Demag anyway. Great-looking watch, something I'd choose! 👍

Just demagnetised it, just in case. 😁

That is a handsome watch, I hope you get it sorted some day!

Case is alright although you’d need to check the references, dial is slightly sus. Is movement a genuine MST?

Pop the back, take a picture, look under the balance wheel.

Roamers had MST calibres (Meyer & Stüdeli); if you think that sounds familiar then you would be right, Fritz Meyer founded Roamer at the end of the 1800s.

Popping the back off again, after having had a bottle of Shiraz isn't on the cards tonight. 🍷😁

I do like the quirkiness of a Roamer Brevete. Prising off the crown from the two part stem. Pushing the movent from the crystal side out the back. Incidentally the dial has patina, cwhy do you think it is sis?

When first looking at the logo, I was struck by its resemblance to the Rolex icon, until I looked closer at the lower half, and realised it was "RW".

Hmm, Shiraz has affected my typing. Lol
