My son has a Vostok Komandirskie that I played around with for a while. I had fun with it and picked up on all the quirkiness of these watches. The crown gave me a heart attack the first time I tried to wind it with how loose and wobbly it felt. I do really like a lot about the design and utilitarianism, but TBH, I can be a bit anal, and I think all the minute imperfections would eventually get to me if I was to buy one for myself.
I can definitely see why they have such a loyal following though.
To be honest, I never owned a Swatch before but was excited when my son told me about the Swatch-Omega collab. I live 6 hours away from the nearest Swatch store but figured I'd order one of the Moonswatches online. I thought this was great since we live in a time of limited editions and such. Swatch had made it clear that these were not limited and everyone would be able to get one. A few months later I read an article where the CEO states that sales will not be online but through official stores only. That really turned me off as I think they secretly liked the insane lines out their doors and would rather keep the hype and limitedness going rather than honor what they originally said.
Don't even get me started on the resell prices.
That is such a nice watch, that it's too bad you have to deal with all the other underlying crap. Hopefully everything finally gets resolved, but I can see where this would leave a bad taste in your mouth.
