Help.. does anyone knows the Roamer brand?

Hey watch fam! I was browsing the internet and saw some Roamer watches that caught my eye. I've never heard of the brand before, so I'm not sure if they're any good. They say they're Swiss Made, but I don't know much else about them. Do you know anything about them?

Have a great weekend!!

They are a legit brand that use to make rather nice watches back in the day. You can still find great vintage models online. I’m not sure about they’re current line up or where they stand in the “enthusiast” market but I still see them pop up online/ on grey market sites with decent designs & movements.

They were a small independent company from small town Solothurn Switzerland. I’m not sure about their current models, but they used to produce high quality watches with in-house movements. You can find good looking affordable pieces on the vintage market. Apparently difficult to service though…

I have only seen vintage examples on eBay and more than a few have been reproductions out of India, ‘original’ movements in new cases, dials, and hands, some would call them Frankenwatches.

Don’t know their current offerings, but as others have already posted they are Swiss

Those are “new” Roamer - vintage Roamer is decent, these are just a bit “meh”. New Roamer is a zombie brand, the old brand “died” in the 80s when it was incorporated into AUSAG, then bought by a former marketing director, but sold to Chung Nam Group of Companies in 2009. Roamer watches used to have Meyer & Studeli movements (MST) which were technically in-house, Roamer itself being the eventual name of the company as it was trademarked anywhere between 1905-1925.

This is my grandad's old Roamer Popular. A really nice watch from somewhere around mid 60's to early 70's

I’ve got one of their modern quartz models (was my WRUW a few days ago - pic on profile) and, whilst it’s not exactly ground-breaking, it’s a nice, well-constructed watch with some legit Swiss heritage and which comes for a reasonable price. I really like mine. I picked it up pre-owned which certainly helped in terms of paying a reasonable price!

I can't comment on their current range. 20 years ago I owned a Roamer Competence Original based on an unreleased 1970s design and a minuscule ETA movement. Great little dress watch.

Only know one person who owned a modern Roamer. He worked for an AD and his watch had significant issues.
