Hey everyone! I’m a little over excited at the moment because I just purchased a 1978 Seiko Grand Quartz (Twin Quartz) 9943-8010 that needs a lot of TLC. The bones seem good. Working condition, and it looks all original from what I can see. It looks pretty rough, but I‘m one that likes an old watch to look old. I will have to change the crystal, which will be a challenge to hunt down… but the 9943 movement is said to be 100% functional, so I’m hoping a quick cleaning and oiling of the gear train, clean up, light polish with cape cod, cleaning and oiling, new crystal, and gaskets. it will have a spot right next to my 1970 King Seiko 5626-7000 😃

I recently bought a Grand Quartz 4843, the twin is a really cool model.

I absolutely love vintage grand Seiko and king Seiko. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole, and I’m starting to collect these more and more now! Im also a huge fan of quartz watches, especially vintage/high performance movements.
I hope you post the results! Looking forward to seeing it all shined up!
