A left-handed form of human endeavor

Sometimes an old film makes watch-spotting easy. Just moments into the classic film noir Kansas City Confidential, Preston Foster's Mr. Big times an armored car delivery with an amazingly cool Mido Multicenterchrono.

Powered by a modified Valjoux VZ 1300 in a François Borgel case and sporting "Tasti Tondi" sunburst chrono pushers shared with the Patek Phillipe 1463 this is a real under-the-radar classic.

Nice film catch. Having the right sized strap was optional back then I suppose.

A very cool watch that I'd never heard of and exceptional research. Thank you - enjoyed that.

Any more classic movie watches we should know about?

From later in the same movie John Payne's character checks his watch (worn military style, face on the inside of his wrist):

I think it's a Hamilton Norden CLD with the AGN dial, but can't be sure at the level of resolution. But at least the strap fits. 😀

Heist films are great for watch spotting since timing is so often involved.

Like Alec Guinness' Tissot in The Ladykillers:

I now really need to rewatch "Le Cercle Rouge" and see if there's a watch involved in timing the heist which takes 30 minutes, has no dialogue but is incredibly gripping. One of my favourite movies.
