Please help!

My automatic Orient Pilot watch stopped winding today! I'm shocked!

As I take it of from my wrist, it just stops. When I shake it to wind it (i'm doing this according to guides), it winds, but just for a few minutes or even seconds! Then it stops again.

The watch is new. Please, help me out!

Have you tried winding it by hand, like actually turning the crown?

If its new, depending on where you got it, I would return or exchange. Check the warranty if its been past the return/ exchange period.

First though, Try hand winding for about 10 - 20 rotations to see if that might help. You might need to shake a lot

I tried, bit I'm not sure if it works. Whe I unscrew the crown I can turn it freely, but I don't feel the watch winding.

Thank you, I'll try to find out if it is possible to hand wind it. I've got it new from the store with a warranty.

Just found out it can't be hand-winded. When try to do so the watch doesn't wind and the crown just rotates freely.

If it is brand new and shipped to you, something inside the watch may have slipped in shipping, and that piece could be blocking the escape wheel or winding mechanism. That's just a guess. I would check on the warrantee status or see if it can be returned and either exchanged or refunded.

If it’s automatic you’re not going to feel winding. Just wear it for a while and move around (maybe get up and go get a beer from the fridge) and the power reserve should charge up. When you take it off at the end of day, it should still be running.

So it is ok that if I shake it about 50 times in my hands and a minute later it stops completely?

That’s unusual. Even a fully drained watch should retain some energy to drive the seconds hand after that type movement. In this case, return it.

Did you unscrew the crown too far? You should definately be able to wind it . After shaking it and putting it on, how long did you wear it?

Just returned it to the store with warranty. They will check it for malfunction and then send it to the Orient factory for repair.

Ok the F6722 movement is a self-winding automatic movement with 22 jewels. Orient makes their movements in-house in Japan. Orient consistently refers to this caliber as an “upgraded” movement. This is because of the inclusion of hacking and hand-winding functionality. So you can hand wind.

I've read comments about the spring that releases the crown. they say it might malfunction making unscrewing and winding a little difficult but thats the only negative I've read so far.

Other than that its seems to be a great movement.
