The automatic speedy has mixed feelings from my understanding. How’re my fellow crunchers feeling about it today in particular?

Honestly, I love all the Speedmaster models. Moonwatch or Racing models, it doesn't much matter.
The Speedmaster started life as a racing chronograph and some of my favourite models are from that line.
Don't even get me started on the Physics behind why the Tachymeter doesn't really work in space due to true three dimensional movement...
If you like it, that's all that matters.

Speedy Dates are great watches. I know quite a few people that have them. Omega also made a ton of variations of them which is always cool.
