Goal achieved... kind of.
Last week I posted how I was really close to my goal of getting my new Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph without putting any NEW funds into it. Well, I was 80% or so there and a deal popped up too good to pass up. So I bought it.
Also, my posting that video and watching it a dozen times in a row didn't help. But I really love this watch.
The micro-adjust on the bracelet is really helpful and the dial is beautiful. I wanted a blue watch to help remind me of the time I lived in Hawaii... swimming with the sharks and other adventures were incredible. The sunray on this dial reminds me of looking down into the deep with the sharks and the rough area on the dial reminds me of the first few days we were here and went to a beach to swim and it was so rocky by the shore.
The column wheel and vertical clutch make this watch a joy to use.
really fabulous watch that doesn't get as much attention as it deserves IMO.

To me, these are among the most underrated chronographs there are. It's svelte and good looking, it's well spec'd and has a genuinely amazing movement.
It should be discussed in the same breath as the Daytona and the Chronomaster Sport.

I didn’t really “get” the Polaris until I got one on my wrist. Now it’s near the top of my list of “someday” watches.

Totally agree here, the whole Polaris line is just splendid. It also feels strangely 'off' for JLC. Like a confident, sporty and slightly loud brother in law in an otherwise modest and quiet spoken family.
