The bottom dial is used in conjunction with the stopwatch function, somehow. it's basically a tachymeter but I only have the vaguest idea on how to use an analog one, a high tech g shock one is beyond my ken. Type the module number into youtube, I'm sure there's a great explanation on there from one of the g shock people.
