Getting a little Oris-curious. Curi-Oris

It’s always funny how the mind of a collector of anything works. For some time I’ve never considered an Oris. They’re nice. I like them all as far as I see but never felt like I should grab one.

That’s changed.

Im thinking of grabbing a Divers 65 in the future on the secondary market. The prices are great and I think im looking for a ‘stoic’ black diver with a black bezel on a respectable bracelet. The bronze bezel is cool but I could go either way with that. The bronze on the bracelet is not for me. Bronze will slightly stain my skin as I’ve learned from my C65 Aquitaine from CW.

I can wear up to a 42-44mm fine but think I’d like the 40 of the Oris and 20mm lugs means most of my strap collection would fit it just fine when I want to swap it out.

What do you guys think of the Divers 65? What other stuff can you recommend instead of the 65 around the same price (or not the same price, I can flex that price a bit for the right piece). I have a fairly large collection already and this will very possibly be the last addition to it for some time. Im open to any suggestions.

The Divers 65 is a great watch by Oris! I agree with your approach buying it on the secondary market because they dip signifcantly in value used. I got mine second hand on eBay. I have since traded this watch, but it is a very good choice.

Just be a bit careful with the calibre 400. The first ones that were made are not very reliable...

Good tip there, as I was curious if/why it would be worth the extra money for the upgrade and what the difference is.

Avoid vintage Oris… don’t question it, just trust me. You don’t need pin-pallets, and everything that translates well they have reissued in one form or another.

You won't be disappointed with the quality, Oris makes a nice watch for a reasonable price.

I've said it before and I will say it again; I wish we had Oris Pro Divers back in the day when I was actively diving. Best dive watch out there for the money & function, hands down.

I had a 65 for six months. Wore it as often as I could. Sold it. Regretted the sale.

You will love it when you decide which one to get.
