What watch of yours has that thing that bugs you and keeps you from wearing it a bunch?

I’m not a fisherman. This is probably because I couldn’t catch a Rainbow trout as a boy scout for the life of me. While my friends were reeling them in and frying them up over an open fire for dinner, I would sit looking on…slumped and deflated…nibbling on a cold Pop tart instead.

This cool Fishing Gear Casio alerts you when fish are biting by the number of fishies that appear on its graphical display. This is measured by inputting your UTC deviation, moon age and current longitude. From reviews I’ve read, people swear this thing works.

But dang it if the band doesn’t pinch into each side of my wrist! It does this because I have long arms and pronounced wrist bones. And I’d never change the strap, because that would totally ruin the look of this watch.

So despite my discomfort and complaints that I suck at fishing and was conditioned to hate Pop tarts…I suppose I’ll keep the watch and wear it just once in a while.

Show us your watch you otherwise really like but has one ‘flaw’ that bugs you silly and keeps you from wearing it often?

I have 0 watches that I don't wear, I can't afford that luxury. If I'm not wearing it, it's up for sale.

Probably my Divex right now. I think it's pretty cool, incredibly robust, I love it on the (Zuludiver) NATO strap..

But the bezel is just far too sharp and easy to accidentally adjust. Frequently throughout the day I'll look down and see that it's moved by brushing against clothes or something, and as someone that regularly uses the dive bezel to time things, it renders the watch fairly frustrating to use.

I wear all my watches but some more than others. I don't wear my divers as often cause they're pretty big and hard to slide under a sleeve.

That is irritating for sure. I feel ya. I’ve got a diver like that as well and keep it in the watch case despite its otherwise awesome specs.

See I like a bulky watch. Thanks goodness there’s so many watches out there.

Orient Defender Mk I. Absolute WORST watch to set, ever. Otherwise fantastic, field, sand blasted, Orient shake-to-wake mvmnt.

I'd wear it more if it wasn't such a PIA to set. One of the few watches I should've researched a bit more before purchasing.

Is it the date subdial that’s hard to set?

Is it the date subdial that’s hard to set?

The day. No quickset day, so if it winds down have to turn the hands until the day you need is displayed. Hopefully you set the time to the correct AM or PM...cuz if it's off have to do it all over again...💩

Believe the Mark II fixed this and added hand winding.

Yeah I work around stuff that a big watch could get caught up on. At best, the watch gets damaged, at worst, I lose my hand. My everyday watch needs to be lower profile.

I have a Casio with that similar crappy band. I put the band in some hot water and bent it around, then curved it how I liked and ran it under cold water to help set the shape. It helped.

That’s a great idea.

My watches without date complications always bug me - I glance at the date once or twice everyday at work and it's a pain to dig out a phone out to double check.

Working random hours day and night adds to the challenge of tracking date correctly, and legal documents are best without mistakes.

I've still got a few date less watches that I hold on to despite this minor failing - mostly since that forgive this sin when it looks awesome.

I agree that a date window on a watch drastically-improves its functionality.
