Should James Bond leave Omega?

I'm channeling James Bond today with my Baltic and wondering if anyone thinks there's a better brand for James Bond than Omega. I'm not a fan of the fact that Bond went from a $3,000 watch to an $8,000 one and would like to see the next Bond in a watch that is more attainable to the next generation of young Bond fans. Either way, what watch or brand would you like to see the next Bond style? Tudor? Bremont? Christopher Ward? or should Swatch Group let Longines take a swing at it? Show us what you want to see him wear.

He should go back to the real James Bond watch the watch worn by James Bond in the Novels as the author intended him to wear, the watch that the author himself owned and wore, the watch worn in the original James Bond films by the greatest bond actor, and the watch personally owned by the original James Bond actor. The Rolex Submariner

That looks sharp on the mesh bracelet! I love the Aquascaphe because of its versatility with various straps and bracelets.

When the Submariner was cast in the role it was a proper tool watch. I'm not sure it would get the part today.

Wouldn't the BB58 be closer to that original Rolex? If you were looking to match the style?

I thought Ian Flemming wore an explorer and I’m pretty sure that’s what he described in the books as he mentions it having numerals. 🤔

It still is a proper tool watch at its core

As long as Omega keeps helping to pay to make the movies, I cannot cannot them switching, if they do and do not go to the OG (Rolex) it should be a UK brand.

It's too fancy with it's White gold indices and gloss dials to carry the look of a tool watch IMO. It's like adding Rhinestones to his PPK.

I get what your saying but no, the Rolex submariner is a closer watch to the Rolex submariner 😂

You are absolutely correct but I was too lazy to write this out but state in the film he wore a sub. If they returned to a explorer that would be awosme I’d be all for it

I'd put him in a vintage Submariner and have him driving a DB5 because it doesn't get better than that 👍

·

There’s no changing it now. Bond IS Omega.

As long as Omega is paying. But what If Bremont or another brand offers more? Bremont and Christopher Ward have more British connection than Omega. What if they feel it's so valuable they'd outbid Omega? What if Breitling wants Bond back in a Top Time like in Thunderball with Connery? What if Grand Seiko wanted to turn the industry upside down and double what Omega pays?

All the posts I've seen with owners having nervous breakdowns every time it gets a scuff, and heartbroken "first scratch" posts you can say that with a straight face? Yeah right.

Haha 😂 I dunno I’ll wear my Rolexes to go hunt a moose or go on a hike. I really don’t mind scratches but to tell you the truth despite wearing my watches even to the gym I don’t bang them up. I just remain somewhat cognizant of trying to not smash my watch and I never do. Not sure how people beat their watches into such bad shape. My omega seamaster I did scratch one day after snorkeling with it on and my Rolex OP because I tried to place it on a tree branch to snap a phone and I actually had to turn around real fast as a pit bull charged me and I knocked it off and scratched it.

My dream watch is the ultimate tool watch and wear is a badge of honor.
