That is the best Explorer homage I think I've seen. My grail watch is an Explorer I. I just don't know if I can rationalize putting so much money into one purchase. That Steinhart might be the answer for me. How does it keep time?

I have some watches... already had about 200 pieces including 7 maybe 8 Steinharts... IMO this is trusted brand with nice ratio of quality to price and in this case I have same conclusion (if somebody dont afraid of homages of course;)
Nice! If that thing was 36mm I would jump on it to fill the void left by my dearly departed Explorer 1.
