See title, who here plans out watch purchases like I do?
Example, I'm currently planning to get two GMTs this year, a Traska Venturer in black and a Longines Zulu Time 39mm anthracite/green.
I'm also due for my semi custom SeL 42mm HAQ diver sometime this year, probably late summer or early Fall.
Next year or maybe this year I'm looking to get a blue Oris BCPD.
Next year I'm also planning on an Omega Aqua Terra 38mm in blue.
Beyond that..... Sometimes I'll see something and if it's under $200 I'll just pull the trigger. Currently thinking about the G-Shock GBD-200 series or a Tissot PRX white dial 35mm off eBay or reddit.
Or do y'all just see something, go "I WANT THAT" and buy it?

I have researched this Baltic to death over the past year and it lives rent free in my head. A lot of possible watches have come and gone in that time, but this one has remained a constant. It's my next watch.
Waiting on my yearly bonus this spring and allocating a small portion to this watch.
I fund my watch addiction with a small savings which I keep track of from overtime, side hustles & gift cards that come my way.
The past 3 Watch I’ve bought have all been second hand pieces I’ve hunted down on eBay. I set search alarms and when they were available at the right prices I ordered.
So they were planned it was just a different plan.
In general I try to plan my watch purchases, but there are definitely changes to the plan that seem to happen often 🙂
I believe there is a saying "if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans". That being said i have plans to buy 5 watches this year, guess we will see who is laughing at the end of the year. 😁

I know that saying both from my good friend and former family doctor who spends several months a year in the Philippines and from @brunofrankelli, so it may have its origin in that region. Anyway, He's getting a good laugh out of every single day of my life.
My plan is to get my collection up to 6 with a Citizen NB1060-12L by December and replace my quartz chronograph and field watch with something mechanical or automatic (Depancel/Venezianico/Pitzmann? echo/neutra/Traska?) probably next year.

I first heard the "How do you make God laugh? Make a plan" joke from an Eric Stoltz movie.

Thanks for that explanation, Sherwin. That film is from 1995. I didn't even know it existed, but first heard that adage in about 1997, when I was about the same age as the protagonists, and have been living by these words ever since.
