Watches of Switzerland buying history?

This is for the UK folks. I'm curious if anyone has a buying history with Watches of Switzerland group (Goldsmiths, Mappin and Webb, WOS, etc). Do they count your history across different stores and chains since it's all one group? Or is it literally per store?

Reason I ask is if I wanted to eventually pick up a less attainable piece, if my buying history would "count". I haven't made any purchases with the group yet.

I've bought from Goldsmith's before and my impression was that the stores are quite independent from eachother. I was told very plainly not to register my interest at any other stores otherwise they would blacklist me.

They also didn't ask about any buying history anywhere else or at their store. I think that it only really helps in the fact it show's you are a serious buyer.

  • I've had a few from their various stores, I'm sure they keep your details on a computer (as they are always bombarding me with emails etc) whether going to various bits of the conglomerate will contribute to a grail purchase I don't know.

It’s best to buy in the same boutique every time, as whilst they might have all your records on the system they will not have the relationship or goodwill if you buy from many different stores. I’d recommend shopping at the largest store of these by you if you wish to attain rarer pieces in the future as bigger stores will likely get more of this stock.

Im not really into this game of you have to play this game with use to get what you want it’s all BS I can understand waiting for a watch that is hand made by a couple of people who can only make few watches a year but companies with massive factories mass-producing millions of watches a year that you once could just walk in off the street and walk out the same day with the watch you bought we all need to stop playing there games and will go back how it was

Try to use the same AD and if possible the same SA. They do keep your records across the company but the individual stores are competing with each other so they try to scare you away from switching.

Go to another store and say ‘I’m registered with so-and-so, will you carry my details over?’

Rather than asking ‘if I leave you can I take my purchase history with me?’

Thanks this is really helpful!

i work with a specific sales person in a WOS store but i’ve walked into their sister stores before and they were able to pull up my profile and purchase history.

but while they can see my profile, they will not have any goodwill to offer me any pieces they have in that store. the salespeople would prioritize customers with whom they have a relationship with, over me.

as for my wish list, i registered my interest in certain pieces with my “home” store and salesperson, and anyone in their sister stores can pull it up and they can even edit the wish list for me if i asked them. but they typically don’t like to do so because it can be viewed as messing with someone else’s customer relationship. try to work with one salesperson and stick with that relationship.

Thank you so much, these are the types of answers I'm looking for!

Here is a video from a fellow Brit. Maybe a bit long but he touches the subject.
