Titanium under $1k?

Someday I'd like to have a grail watch. So I'm thinking ahead.

I like big pilot's watches mostly. I also really like the look of "super compressors". But I'm open to any ideas.

Max lug to lug 50mm.

Must be leather free.

Not Seiko because I just don't trust their quality after my Flighty issues.

Quartz preferred but not a must.

Thanks!

RZE focuses on titanium watches. I don’t own one but am very interested in the Endeavor line. Don’t think they have a pilots watch but do have some field watch styles.

Yeah I really liked one of their discontinued models. But in the end it was just too similar to my Casio titanium which is also field style.

Two I can think of, all are automatics however.

SWC, the bracelet is an option. https://swcusa.com/

Tsao Baltimore. https://tsaobaltimore.com/

Also Hamilton has titanium but I think they are all just over a grand these days. https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-us/?gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwvilBhCFARIsADvYi7JD_kZafLkDd0O06JXIfUgZLAUFCUXT-CH1WzxtQlFzJqyEB1n42sQaAmIGEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

This isn't a pilot watch or a supercompressor, but a really great titanium dive watch from Citizen is the BN0200-56E.

I picked one up for my dad, who's a huge fan of Citizen watches because of the range of options and the hassle-free Eco Drive movement. I was so impressed I was considering buying one for myself, but I just have too many divers!

Thanks I had a look.

There's some nice lume on the Baltimores but the daytime look just doesn't do it for me.

Sorry about your Seiko flighty issues - I will say, I think that is a bad model to judge Seiko by because it is an absurdly complex configuration made at a budget price - things were bound to go wrong. I can only speak from my own experience, but I have probably close to 15 Seikos and have never had a quality issue...that's not say I never will experience one or to deny others' experiences, but I do think they are a brand to be generally trusted.

With that in mind, I submit to you the Seiko SARX055 (they also make a black model, SARX057). All titanium including the bracelet. A real showstopper. Not quartz though (I'd reckon quartz AND titanium for under $1k is a scarce category, beyond some very vanilla entry level Seikos/Citizens). I think these are discontinued so prices might be approaching $1,000 by now, but felt they were worth a mention.

Some might hate me for this, but you may enjoy the Vincero Altitude. I have one and it’s the most accurate watch in my box. It’s my “quartz beater” so I’ve done home repair and outside work with it and it’s gotten plenty of water.

But it’s not titanium and it’s 43mm with a LtL very close to 50mm.

They have several color ways and that strap is the most comfortable in my box.

Thanks. That's nice. Not exactly my style though.

Thanks. That Citizen is pretty nice but yeah I'd like titanium.

The other two are a no go for me. It's the buying of the leather that's the issue due to liking animals etc. Much of it is cats and dogs from China - and other similar issues.

I'll try to post pics of a few I've found so far that you might like. But I'm having technical issues with uploading so I'll try in a separate comment...

These are titanium and come in a few colors. Pretty great actually but the shop I was on didn't have the color I wanted. And I'm not 100% sure about it.

Second one titanium. Don't remember about the first.

Edit: yes it says so on the dial. Lol

I think I like these the most so far. But they also cost the most. I think 400 and 700 but the good version of the dark one needs to be imported from Japan to get the nice quick adjust clasp and other small improvements.

·

Oh also the screens on it are kinda ugly lol.

These are by far the most functional. But I just really don't like the lugs on the second one. And it's also only half titanium. There's also a cream dial one with a slightly different case.

And the g shock strap angle just doesn't fit me.

·

See above this comment. I added a bunch.

Baltic could be worth a look: https://baltic-watches.com/en/collections/dive-watches

They do a Titanium Aquascaphe Diver 300m which is a great watch for the money. (single screw down crown, but nice ceramic bezel)

And they do a dual crown model (SS but comes in a DLC version if that helps).

I know this is a bit over budget but may be of interest. My other suggestion would be the Citizen Promaster Super Tough Titanium.
