I have no personal experience but the name alone tells one that this falls into the category of "fashion watches." The main definition is that the name is not primarily know for watches and almost always it is a licensed name with the product being made by some third party with the licensing fee being passed on to the customer. This typically leads to the claim that one can get better value for their money if they don't place high priority on the branding.
I know they had a partnership with Movado a while back. But yes, the Lacoste logo seems oversized on their current offering, and they are a general fashion brand. (This really reminds me of the 80s.)
