(Vostok’s time-only, mechanical 24-hour movement).
Some say that a watch shouldn’t have an exhibition caseback if there’s nothing to exhibit. I disagree. I never get tired of looking at this movement.

With Vostok I suspect it's for easier inspection by the watchmakers.

Actually that’s basically why I swapped the original caseback for this display one.

Cool.
I don't think there is a mechanical watch out there with "nothing to exhibit." Decoration is just a bonus.

Unfortunately mine has no decoration, but I agree.
The only exception I have to this are those old Timex pallet movements. Those things are ugly lol. They look like they’ve been taken out of an old boiler
Been thinking of getting an open case back for my Vostok, where ya get it?

If you want a regular, brushed one Meranom has two: a big-window one and a small-window one. The latter is a thinner and is neat bc of the test. If you want a polished one PoljotUrhen sells them on eBay. Get the “100 m” one.

Thanks! The shipping from Russia to the USA when I bought from Meranom was….fun?
