We float, we all float down here
Despite being referred at work as a clown, I don't really lurk under the office building and lure my colleagues to a watery grave. The municipality is simply too good with the maintenance of their water treatment infrastructure.
This leaves me with the Dietrich SD-1 and it's incredible floating dial that was created by engraving the indices and the text on a sapphire disk, filling them with lume and suspending the disk above the blue dial.
It creates an effect that catch the eye and draw it toward the dial where the depth created by the contrast of the shadows cast by the white outline is luring me to spend too much time gazing at this dial that seems to float serenely above a blue ocean.
Ahem, perhaps I should not float there too much.
Well, time to strap it on the wrist and get going, I just need another peek to look at the light refracting through the sapphire bezel insert because the halo it's creating is so pretty.
I'm a big fan of watches that are interesting because they are either unique, have interesting features, well designed or simply offer a great value for their price.
I like the bracelet.

TBH it's not without some issues. Dietrich decided to use a butterfly clasp in order to preserve the flow of the bracelet. It's very elegant looking but the clasp, together with the hexagonal links are limiting the adjustability of the bracelet.

Unfortunately, Dietrich decided to close shop this year. Gnomon might still has some green dial SD-1, which were produced exclusively for them.
