Should back lights be a more prominent feature in watches? I feel like it's something that could be upgraded and featured much more then it currently is.

Buy Timex, they brought us the proper backlight, and it's still available on their digital models.

That Casio still offers bad backlight tells you all you need to know about Casio's care for the customer experience. Sure they're cheap... but they're cheap.

I took these pics off of Google and used that casio as an example because it is bad. I'm a die hard timex fan.

A man of class and taste then! 🍻

I really can't stand the Casio backlights... I mean, I got it in the 90s, Indiglo and the Casio version were new then. 30+ years on, it's just lazy to keep terrible backlights in your watches.

There is no excuse to be moving the technology backwards when things have advanced so much and affordable. Timex doesn't make the greatest watch ever but the things they get right work for me.

I don't mind, I think for a serious sports watch, an electro luminescent backlight is a must, but for a quirky retro-esque piece, meh.

As @KristianG says.

And TBH Indiglo might be the best lume period lol.

That's why I bought the F-105W, it has EL back light. And many Casios now come with either EL (F-168), strong orange light (A-700, Royale), or white LED (G-shock). I think it's nice that Casio offer everything in the range from dirt cheap to very nice. Also, the designs appeal to me more.

On the other hand, the T-80 can offer a package that Casio can't, so there's something for everyone.

Lighting is huge! Indiglo by Timex is a monster PLUS for them over many brands. Casio wishes they had that edge. And if they do, they are making your point- then why dont they shout to the heavens abt it.

I remember having a Timex when I was younger and thinking it was cool. Give me a watch though with good lume now. If you have a digital watch light it up but in most cases I don't really care

The backlight on my G-Shock square is great but honestly I never use it. I don’t really spend much time in areas that are so dark that I can’t read the time. And if I do, I usually have my phone in hand anyway. Also I don’t wear a watch when I sleep.
