The flippers are going to get hosed on this one just like they did with the Timex GMT.  Seiko has no incentive to stop pumping these out and unlike Omega, I have full faith in their ability to do so in a timely manner.

Well, I didn’t find any in Chrono24. Not yet anyways. It’s not available in my local Seiko boutique yet. Hope it gets there soon.

I kind of agree with you. both on the reduced specs and the QC issues at Seiko, but it is still an automatic traveler's GMT for less than $500. That is a hard price to beat, even for a traveler's GMT rather than a true GMT. I am probably going to wait until I see what the Islander GMT looks like, compare it and the Seiko 5 GMT, and then I will go ahead and get the Islander GMT. 🤣
