Please Help! Brand New Casio AQ-800E-7A Not Working

Ive been wanting one of these for awhile, spotted this at Walmart with my girlfriend. Was really surprised to see an AQ800 in store, and my girlfriend was nice enough to feed my addiction and bought it for me!! Later I was adjusting the digital clock and it worked perfectly, then I adjusted the analog clock and after that it stopped keeping time. Also, the buttons won’t press now. Can’t adjust time or mode at all. Could it possibly be a dead battery even though it’s brand new? Also was intrigued by the box saying atomic time keeping because I was pretty sure these were not atomic watches. Is it just in the wrong box most likely? Any help would be amazing. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Definetly thebwrong box. It wouldn’t hirt to try a new battery, but honestly I would return it and just buy one online. The reason I think it is the battery is no telling how long that watch has been sitting there.

You aren’t wrong I’ll have to see if I wanna fully inbox it and give it a shot and replace the battery. Like you said might just be better off getting a new one!

I don’t think this model has an atomic clock/sync. Something’s off

Old stock quartz watches often have dead or dying batteries. For shure every watch in the discount bin has a battery on the way out.

Ugh, it looks to have a spring clip case back which requires removing the band to pry off, and then the battery is an oddball SR920W (370/371). This is a nuisance DIY fix for a beginner. Totally doable, but you'll need a spring bar tool and the odds of finding the battery locally are low.

It seems like you may need a new battery. Also if the pushers aren't working the plastic spacer/brace can be misaligned. At times the plastic ring inside the watch that holds the movement in place has tabs on them. These tabs need to be aligned with the pushers. When you push the button in they push on the tab which in turn pushes on the control tab on the movement. The tiniest misalignment can keep them from working. This watch possibly being in the wrong box could be a tell tale sign that someone has possibly had the back off and got it out of whack.

Ended up finding a battery at ace yesterday and popped the case back open, replaced it, and now it’s working perfectly. Thanks everyone for your suggestions appreciate you all!
