Should I buy this Tisell Deckwatch? (Read Description)

I have been eyeing this Tisell watch for a while now and in turmoil about pulling the trigger or not. Sapphire Glass, Blue Hands and (Somewhat) Enamel Dial. Miyota 9015 Caliper, 50 ATM +Screwdown Crown. $220 USD incl. shipping from South Korea. It looks amazing and I love the aesthetic of the classic marine 'Deckwatch' Style. It is much cheaper than anything from Stowa or Nomos. Downsides: It almost seems to good to be true. Their isn't that much information about the brand, especially the product. Most people seem to be happy with it though? It also is fairly large for a more 'dressy' watch at 40mm for me.

Certainly looks good

Again, 5 ATM, not 50 ATM.

This is your third post about this watch in a day, just get it already! 😂

·

If you're intending to go kayaking in it I'd personally go for something more robust - that's a pretty watch & it'd be a shame to get it scratched up,let alone risk water wrecking it.

Lol sorry the first one didn't have any responses I'm in turmoil:)

·

That last sentence puts me in the maybe camp. A few millimeters smaller and I'd have no problems supporting this.

·

I'm sorry. 50ATM? Ok, for a dress watch that is just ridiculous. Who'd need a 500m WR for a dress watch?

·

Based on your wrist size in your profile, absolutely not. 40mm is large for a dress watch, even more so a giant white dial like this. This will look comically oversized on your wrist and ridiculous.

·

The horns of your dilemma:

  1. Buy the watch. Realize that at 40mm, with your wrist size it looks enormous on you. Convince yourself that you can pull it off and try for awhile until the cognitive dissonance makes you wear something else. Start to get angry at yourself because you always knew that it would be this way.

  2. Don't buy the watch. Still want the style of watch at that price. Have difficulty finding a replacement. Start to get angry at yourself because you were dissuaded from buying the watch by some anonymous troll on a watch forum.

Either way it ends in regret.

Aww... I would love to have a watch with overspecced WR. *Am sad now* 😛

Honestly I would totally dive with a dress watch if I could. Thinks about a Lange Lumen on the Sea Floor😀

Don't mind the brand. If you like it, its well made (from feedback), and fits you (case dia. and Lug to Lug), just get it.

I liked my Sugess Chrono as much as my Hamilton Intra Matric.

I love a deck watch style and I like Tisell and own one, and my recommendation is: Don't buy this watch... yet.

I'd want to know that you are on board with the size and water resistance before pulling the trigger, or at least that you are ok with selling it for about $120 to 150 if it doesn't work out for you. In the meantime, there are lots of other options for affordable watches in this style that you may not have found yet, and which might fit your needs better in terms of size or water resistance. For example this Timex is the same 40mm, but it has an actual 50m of water resistance and you don't have to ship it to Korea if it needs warranty work. Timex standard small seconds.

For 220, it is a bargain, ship from south korea but made in china like most micros. Just don't expect much in warranty, but miyota is ubiquitous.

It looks lovely, especially those Breguet hands. 40mm for a dress watch is pretty large, if you have the girth to tame it then get it in my guy
