My $650 collection

With a limited Budget I managed to get everything pictured for under $650 including the display lol. I have 2 Invicta pro diver Auto Submariner homages, 1 Invicta speedway Daytona Homage, a Pagani AP homage, a Casio Duro on a steel bracelet, A Casio Royale, a G shock 5610 on a nato, and an Orient Bambino. It’s not much but to me it’s perfect. I’m always looking to add to my budget minded collection so if any have recommendations I’d like to hear them.

Suprisingly the Pagani has the best Lume of the bunch.

Looks good so far and recommendations depend on what you’re looking for and how much you’re willing to spend. I’m a working stiff and live in the Seiko, Orient, Casio, Timex tax bracket with strategic Swiss and German purchases (only if I’m getting a great deal). The Duro, G-Shock, Royale, and Bambino will be on most everyone’s value list already so the question is whether you’re looking to replace any Invictas or add other Watch types (Field, Aviator, GMT, etc.)

We are the same Tax bracket 🫡😂, and I’m considering adding a good mechanical Feild watch, but I have seen some pilot watches i like. Not sure which direction to go. I was surprised at how good the quality of Pagani was when I got it, but I am looking to add something outside of the brands I currently have.

Sir, that is nicely done.👍

You can get great deals on Swiss quartz and some automatics.

Glycine is great choice with quartz divers under $200 a bargain in my opinion. Having everything from hand wind Chronos and automatics. Bless me lord for what I'm about to say but I still love quartz a ton.

You got many options don't think you can't get something Swiss for under 300.

Thank you, I just got started into the watch world about 3 months ago, and I have a limited budget but I got what makes me happy, glad others think it’s decent as well. 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for the recommendation I’m definitely going to check them out 💪🏻

Also the PRX auto was originally what I was considering, but I decided to get a collection instead of a single watch to get started. But I do still have my eye on it 😊

Just FYI Glycine is owned by Invicta lol. Keep it in the family.

That does surprise me. I've got a Pagani Daytona homage, and the lume on it is pretty much useless.

Hamilton Field Mechanical ~$400 or Timex North Field Mechanical ~$250 would be my recommendations for field watches. My old aviator style watch is my Seiko5 SNK which can be bad for about $150. I’ve also looked at the brand Laco if you want a German Flieger style watch. As always, try on watches before you buy them to make sure they fit you and your lifestyle.

Yeah I was shocked, I guess who ever applied my lume was having a good day 💁🏻‍♂️😂

Invicta is what got me started in the Automatic realm, I do hate how overly branded the watch is, but other than that it’s been a tank and keeps great time.

Hamilton never crossed my mind as being under $500 thank you so much for the recommendation, I was considering my first $500 plus watch as the PRX, but if I can get into a Hamilton I may go that route. 🙏🏻

I have a PRX auto so I will tell you from experience that the wearing experience of the Hamilton is superior at 38mm. I think so highly of the Hammy that I wore it for family pictures just this past weekend.

I have a 6.5” wrist and the PRX and barely manageable but the case, dial, bracelet, and Powermatic 80 movement are class leading. The value pick for the PRX would be the quartz version.

Thinking of getting my first invicta how your watches been holding up ?

They have held up great, I abuse them as I work construction and never had any issues. If I could go back though I would tell myself to get the 1953 Invicta pro diver over the 8928ob pro diver. Only because the 1953 is less branded all over than my current ones. Other than that I love them both!

I was considering the Quartz PRX but something about having a Swiss Automatic is an itch I need to scratch lol. But man I’m gonna hunt down a Hamilton for sure.

It is much!

It’s your collection and that’s unique to you 👍🏻

I am not bothered about qudos in watch collecting I buy em because I like em!

For outstanding value try "steeldive" yeah it’s a Chinese mushroom brand but the spec you get for the money you part with is really good, I have a Willard homage that has 2x straps, NH35A and sapphire for under £120.00 try one 😉

Wow I really like that, and yeah I don’t mind what the brand name is as long as it’s decent quality lol.

Some people don’t like homages/copies and to a degree I concur particularly when they’re badly made. All I can say is mine is wonderful for the money paid with only one minor drawback, I find crown operation awkward although that’s probably due to my hands 😂
