Had the Murph, and like the 3 other Hamiltons it lasted 2 weeks in the collection before lack of AR coating and printed fauxtina numerals made it useless in anything other than perfect conditions. A shame because it was well made & handsome, but lack of legibility was too frustrating to live with for me.
Very different watches! I think you can solve this easily by just asking yourself which is going to fit in your lifestyle more / which kind of watch brings you more joy.

The Murph is iconic because it was in a movie. The Squale is iconic because it is actually iconic.

I know the Murph is more a dress watch and the Squale an actual diver. Two completely different things but I can’t decide which one to buy 🫠
Squale is ridiculously overrated. Wouldn't own one.

I haven’t got one yet, why do you say that really curious?
I bought a Squale before. Returned it because the bracelet was really hard to operate. Specifically, it’s really hard to open the thing.
Hamilton, on the other hand doesn’t have those issues.

I didn't even know Squale did a bracelet!

You didn't specify the criteria. So I picked what I like more. 🤷

Yet another revived historical brand with parts made in Asia and doing the minimum to qualify as "Swiss Made."
Not that there is a single thing wrong with that process save for QC issues and pricing.
Glycine, among others, does the same. And for a far lower price tag.
Squale is less well finished and QC'd vs Steinhart, offers essentially homages and for 2x the price.
They are $600-$800 watches, at best.
