NWD - New Watch Day

I have been enamored by this watch since I first saw the first version (quartz three hands only). I really liked the design of the case and how industrial and rugged it looked.

But now, this chronograph version beats it in a way...

The way that the chrono pushers and crown are integrated in the case at 12' it is amazing.

Specifications:

Case in 316l Stainless steel with bead blasted finish for that rugged look

40,2mm case and 27mm wide ate the lugs

L2L of 53,5mm

Thickness of 12,25mm

Lug spacing 22mm

Antimagnetic to 4800 A/m

WR of 100m/330 feet

Weight of 75g - case only

Screw back

Dial is semi matte black with semi matte grey registers

C3 Superluminova

Sapphire crystal with AR underside

Movement is Seiko VK67 Mecaquartz

The caseback is of the military type (like Laco and Stowa) with the specs.

The watch is priced at 235£ without VAT

Overall feeling:

The watch sits weel on the wrist, i thought the L2L would be big, but since it is a Pass through straps only, it gives the effect of being like 49-50mm L2L

The lugs are well turned down disguising that L2L measuremente really well.

The fact the the crown and pushers are at 12', diminishes the overal wider look.

But damn, I just like those pushers at 12'! They are amazingly incorporated into the case and acting as crown guards for the signed crown.

I bought this watch, since i liked a rugged and analogic watch for my daily activities as an officer, the one that I've used before was the CWC G10, which still does a great service! But I believe this one having more funcionalities and overall better case, sapphire and better WR will do me just good or even better.

That is what made me love it. The 3 hand variant, it is cool, but it feels a little empty. This one, probably the best design of the type.

A little PS: the designer of the case is now the founder of the unimatic brands. We can see some resemblence.

My understanding is that most lugs fail to arch adequately because of breakage concerns. On my wrist today is a Mr Jones watch whose case was dropped sans spring bar and a lug bent. The beefiness and the fixed lug aspect both seem to eliminate this. Oh, obviously machining such a shape consumes more material and machining time, probably a lot. I say it's worth it!

That's very cool, love it. Was looking at the auto 3 hander but not keen on the buying process....

Well, it is not easy, but not as complicated as some say. I have already bought 3 timefactors watches. Being the Everest Expedition, the Everest Gilt Dial and this one. I have only failed 2 times, but it was my fault.

Impressive, I'll have a go myself then. Cheers mate 👍🏻
