Rolex Price Increase

It‘s not too surprising to see cost of watches go up every year. Especially gold pieces. But seeing up to 11% increase in some of the stainless steel models made my eyebrow rise. This surely will have some effect on the secondary market when it comes to re-sell.

To me, it seems that Rolex is taking advantage of the secondary market prices to justify this increase... not that most people can pick up these watches in general. I would hate to have my name on a list for one of these pieces and then get “the call” and be told I have to cough up an extra 11% in cost on top of taxes.

Thoughts on the $ increase? Would you put your name on a list for 5+ years with the possibility of them upping the MSRP each year?

Given the current rate of inflation (6.8% in the US for 2021) I don't think the increases are much to complain about. Then again, I don't think most people have an issue with the list prices to begin with.

True! shoot, list is much more attractive than secondary prices for sure!

Not that you're likely to find one, anyway.

Conjurer speaking cold hard facts!

I have no problem with these prices. I think they are fair and competitive. The issue is there are none available except at massive grey market premiums. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Yes these are price increases, but you have to account for inflation rates as well. Once you compare the inflation rate and the price increase, it actually isn't too bad.

Solid returns!

The only tag one will find them with at an AD will have no price on it, just "NOT FOR SALE - DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY," because the local grey market dealer already booked the entire shipment for themselves.

"We're sorry, but we have nothing to sell to you. Please enquire with your nearest huckster."

I believe there's a 4% increase next year in January. Tudor has a 9.5% increase.
