SOTC…. Thoughts?

I’m 8 months into my watch collecting journey. It’s been a wild ride so far. Constantly chomping at the bit, wanting, itching, craving a new time piece. Lucky for me, my wife knows what I like. The Seiko was my Christmas present last year, and the Tissot was my birthday present this year.

As it stands:

1: Citizen Eco-Drive Chrono

2: Seiko 5 SRPD51

3: G-Shock GA2100 Lovers Edition

4: Tissot PRX Powermatic 80

5: ???????

What am I missing? What comes next? What gets rotated out and replaced? The cycle never ends does it? Do I get a bigger case or do I keep the same case and get a bigger budget? Who’s to say.

Like Jim Cramer says “buy, buy, buy”.

The Citizen gets voted off the island.

You got the big Japanese brands covered with Seiko and Casio. Looks like you’re headed to Europe with the Tissot. Either go big name Swiss or go microbrands. A Chronograph, a field, or dress watch makes sense, depending on what you need.

I was just consulting with a buddy about this too. He said Chrono or GMT. I was looking at the Logines Zulu Time or the Tudor Black Bay GMT. Dress watch would be fantastic, but what?

Also, I 100,000,000% agree. Citizen gets voted off. The tribe has spoken.

The Swiss world gets big when you’re working with that budget. The Zulu time is nice (except the stars) and the BB GMT is probably not the best BB in the lineup. On the dressier side of sports, you can’t go wrong with an Omega Constellation or Rolex OP (shocker). Or if you want a conversation starter, Christopher Ward Bel Canto.

You need something that says Longines on it.

Edit: I said this without looking at your comment above. Your buddy hit it on the head.

Honestly I’d take an OP or an Aqua Terra. Constellation is beautiful as well. You can’t really go wrong.

Great minds think alike! 😂

I think you are in an enviable position. There are so many directions you can go but you have enough variety right now that you can take your time to find specific models that you really love.
