Lorier Hyperion Skyward - Pro’s & Cons?

I’ve seen this brand pop up all over 🚾. I haven’t really dove into the brand or what the pros and cons are but they make some beautiful watches. Particularly this bad boy with the Pepsi bezel.

For those crunchers who have a Lorier, what has your experience been? Is it worth pulling the trigger? What are some things you like or don’t like?

I don’t have experience with the brand but that is a beautiful looking watch.

I agree. I’m having a really hard time delaying my gratification with this one. The white dial is a limited release, so right now it’s only available on the grey market.

I just sold the Gilt version with the Soprod movement, as for me it had 2 issues that stopped me from wearing it much:

  1. It wore a bit flat give the size (39mm x 47mm and <10mm thickness without the crystal)

  2. The hands stand out way more than the dial printing unless it's broad daylight. Together with the the muted bezel colours the watch looked a bit dull unless it was in direct light.

The first one shouldn't be an issue with the latest releases, as the Myota movement adds a couple of mm of thickness, and I think the skyward editions's white dial should be anything but dull!

Other than that the watch was well made and felt like good value for money at ~£650, even better value now that it's cheaper with the Myota movement.

I think the Hyperion offers great classic design ques - only con is the lugs might be a tad long and flat, making it not as wearable for some tastes.

I have the OG Hyperion. One thing I really like about it is its thinness; it fits so elegantly and comfortably on the wrist. I was a little disappointed when I heard about the latest version with the Miyota movement, as I want a travelers GMT, but then I tried it on at Windup, and I'm less disappointed. The new version is thicker and wears chunkier, so it lacks the slim elegance of the original. I think I'm happy with mine as it is, but I'm still on the hunt for the right travelers GMT with rotating bezel.

I did actually buy it thinking that the thinness would suit me, but it just wore weird on my wrist. Might be because I have a similarly thin red Alpinist which is only 36/37mm in diameter, so the proportions of the Hyperion felt a bit off. Glad to hear you like it though as it is a nice watch!

I have had 3 Loriers.. sold one and now have the Neptune and the falcon i believe. The Neptune is a magnificent watch. Looks old school and at about 39 mm.. just fits perfect. The brackets are also top notch. Tbey feel amazing . The only negative that I have.. is that the end links on the bracelet look kinda cheap.. can’t tell from afar, but u know how we watch ppl are 😂

Hi Braeden

I have the latest release of the Skyward Hyperion and it certainly does turn a lot of heads on any strap. The original bracelet fit feels amazingl and I love the screwed links.

The elephant in the room is the choice of using domed acrylic over the sapphire crystal…

Either you like it or you don’t. As I bought the watch anyway, I’m sure that you can guess where I land on that question.

The only true con that I feel is worth mentioning is that the rotor is really loud… so loud that it can be heard spinning a few feet away; but, given that the trade off is a travelers GMT under a $1000, all-in-all, there isn’t a lot of downside here.

Lorier is definitely one to watch!

The Miyota 9075 movement they are using is a traveller's GMT.

The Soprod the used until v3 isn’t. And it’s more expensive. But much thinner. Hence my post.

I love it a lot. One of my favorite watches and I have many including luxury ones. I’m wearing this most of the time. I find it comfortable, stylish, attractive, and a perfect fit in my 7” wrist. I have the caller gmt and I like it just fine.
