Father Time
First let me start by saying this. Being a dad is the best. I wouldn’t trade it for anything on earth. Whenever my daughter sees a watch she points at it and says “Dada”.
Yesterday she kept pulling on my Seiko so I went into the office, grabbed an this old 1989 Fossil Batman watch (it’s the smallest one I have) and put it on her wrist.
This morning I walked into the living room and she had slid this on her wrist all by herself and she kept pointing at it saying “Dada”. Not only did it melt me into a puddle, it made me realize that time is precious and the importance of being present.
I can’t wait to see if she ends up being a watch enthusiast as well. Today is a great day.

I have a collection of Soviet made children’s watches from the 50s to 90s, this is a Zaria Dawn made for the 1968 World Fedtival of Youth in Belgrade. The soccer ball mimics a second hand moving slightly up and down off the kid’s foot. They are mechanical, small, and unique, and amazingly all work great. An inexpensive way to teach your child responsibility (winding the watch) to tell time, and to be the only kid in school with a vintage Russian made watch.
I've always said, if you didn't have kids, you are just spending your life playing games. And I'm living proof of that.

Hopefully it will grow into a family hobby instead of Dads obsession. My sons are older in their 20s. Two of them talk and wear watches with me. Watches has become that thing that we can relate to together. That’s cool. It gets harder to relate with them as they get older. Enjoy your children. They grow up fast.
