Straps: where do you get yours?

This is the Cartier Solarbeat Tank in Large size on a cheap ($19) suede quick release strap I got from Amazon.

I love the way this strap makes the watch more casual and approachable, compared to the more staid black vegan leather strap that came with the watch. And the fact that it has a quick release makes it super easy to change back and forth.

Where do you get your watch straps? What are your favourite places to find and buy straps?

My fav right now is Strapsco.com and Strapcode.com

https://www.strapatelier.com/

My go-to mid tier option for specialty cow leathers.  They source globally from high quality tanneries.  I probably have bought 15 straps across all their price points and it represents well across the board.

https://artemstraps.com/

Best aftermarket sailcloth straps out there. It was one of those situations where  I bought a watch and bought the strap for the watch, and then sold the watch but refuse to get rid of the strap.

Best for exotic leathers like crocodile or ostrich.  The quality is unimpeachable and the price is exceptionally high.

Great info!

Never buy from Delugs:

I like crownandbuckle.com for a US based vendor with all good products and some USA made products.

Etsy.com has wide variety of vendors, ranging from interesting built-on-demand and custom products to imports of variable quality. I'm intrigued by many "LoneStarTreasure" items from Texas but never bought anything from them.

Amazon.com and Strapsco.com import and resell Chinese straps -- these can be high quality but sometimes unspeakably cheap and disgusting. You can get the same products (both good and bad) for 1/2 or 1/3rd the US price through AliExpress.com, but they take several weeks to arrive from China. For example, see "Juelong Official Store" and "zhong Company Store".

I'm quite partial to Marine Nationale straps from Erika's Originals. They're made to order and come with different colour and buckle options. One of the ways I tell I'm serious about a watch is if I start looking at Erika's straps to see what might look good on the watch.

https://www.bartonwatchbands.com/ has some great bands. Their NATO bands are decent but the real winner is their huge selection of quick release bands. I have purchased several tropical, silicon and leather bands and the quick release system makes swapping bands in and out a breeze.

I love strapsco.com. Their stuff is pretty decently priced and good quality. Getting your money’s worth.

This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Really helpful to know which strap seller is good at what type of strap! Thanks!

Whoa! That’s a terrible experience! I actually also bought a saffiano leather strap from Delugs and luckily had a better experience. I’m shocked.

Must have quick release! I agree.

Well,

  • AliExpress for FKM rubber straps 💪.
  • Artem makes THE sailcloth strap.
·

I have a smaller wrist so custom straps are preferred. I’ve reached out to “up and coming” strapmakers in the watch forums and purchased a few. My favorite is Martu Straps out of Chile. For the price of one strap from a higher end strapmaker I can get 2-3. Quality and execution is pretty good without breaking the wallet.

My #cartier tank must xl is 23mm, so Barton is a great option for price.
