New San martin

Saw this post on Reddit and I like it despite some personal changes I would like, but overall solid design. I like they are heading to authentic designs.

Decent, but unspectacular designs. Nothing offensive, but nothing I'd lie in bed at night lusting over.

I think San Martin's biggest problem is people don't really want San Martin original designs. People buy a San Martin because they actually want a Rolex/Tudor/Omega/Whatever and San Martin replicate those designs with decent quality for an affordable price. That's been their USP.

People might tell you they want original designs, but what people say they want and what they actually spend their money on are two totally different things. Just ask Tudor. There's a reason why the North Flag bombed and every variation of the BB58 is the new Second Coming.

The designs are original-ish. Getting plenty of Doxa 200 and Super Squale vibes there.

I'd like to see more original good quality stuff from San Martin. The watches I've seen seem to be well made and decent spec, I'm not a fan of clones/homages so welcome some originality

Excellent point. I totally agree with your take.

That being said, I am glad that at least they are trying. How many homages the world can take, it's just getting mundane
