I'm shocked

Just received this today from amazon after one of those late night delirious net surfing sessions.

How long will it last? I have no idea and I don't care to be honest.

The fit and finish are superb, hence the title. Ofcourse the movement is loud, but who cares.

I know some of watch lovers-me included- can't digest the idea of homages/look alike replicas. And some have no problem with it.

Not Only that, but I was in that group disliking skeleton watches altogether.

But, I'm guilty of giving in and getting sucked into buying one of those"homages" and nonetheless a skeleton one.

I guess I'm ok with an homage to an obscure model for those who don't know watches. May be I am ok with an homage as long as it is well built and doesn't look like a rolex or a well known brand to a non watch person, so I won't be asked "is that an xyz".  Or may be I'm just rationalizing and justifying.

Tell me what you think? And as I always I don't take things personally, so spill it out. Life is too short.

Dude, this is awesome!  What is it?  And how much did it cost?

·

And what's it supposed to be a homage of?

This thing looks awesome and I couldn‘t have said it better myself! I have given in and bought some homages in my journey and some of them I really do (or did - most of them I sold) love as watches but I just always ended up never wearing them because they make me feel an even stronger desire for the real thing… Also I just could never wear them proudly unfortunately, I always caught myself trying to hide them in public even though maybe one out of 100000 people would even care.

I won‘t be buying any more homages therefore, I seem to have learned my lesson but if you can really enjoy it and wear it with pride, do so! That is what matters most after all ;)

Cheers!

This is exactly my sentiment. One of my first watches many many years ago when I didn't know anything about watches+I still don't know much- was an Invicta posing as a daytona.

When I realized the fact it's a homage and started getting questioned, I began hiding my wrist exactly as you were doing until I stopped wearing it altogether. Some people are comfortable with that and that's great as long as they are enjoying what they own and have fun. What I don't like are posers.

The only homage watches I own are this one and a Steinhart homage to the old explorer 2. And if I meet someone who will know what those are homaging, then it might lead to a great conversation.

Sorry for the rant.

Cheers 🤝

Pretty sweet for 120 bucks!  Go swimming with it, see what happens, report back.

No way. It's 30m WR

So test it - you'll be adding to the community knowledge base. I took a SNK809 (30m WR) to 17m - I doubt you'll be going anywhere near that.

And if it leaks, so what?

Skeletonized watches are a guilty pleasure. I don't care where they're made or what brand they are. I just think they look cool.

·

Never liked them. But, as usual my likings are changing 🤯

You are right why not?

I'll take it to 20m when I go to Hurghada in May and I'll report back 😉
