I grew up hearing that Swiss was the best. Most of the watches on my wrist were Japanese. Usually Citizen.

Got older could afford my own timepieces, went Swiss for my wife and I. Ended up losing those timepieces when our home was burgled. All my Casios, Citizens, Seikos and vintage Swiss timepieces however were left untouched.

Now, I’ll look at Swiss and admire them. I don’t lust over them anymore. Instead I find myself looking more at Citizen and Seiko’s high end pieces. For me, I actually prefer the aesthetic of GS over Rolex and Omega. Hell, over the vast majority of Swiss brands. Next high end watch I purchase will likely be a GS.
